Characteristics and application
Thrust ball bearings are designed to withstand thrust loads when running at high speeds. They are composed of a washer-shaped ring with a raceway groove for ball rolling. Since the ring is seat-shaped, thrust ball bearings are divided into two types: flat seat pad type and self-aligning spherical seat pad type. In addition, this type of bearing can withstand axial loads but not radial loads.
According to the force conditions, they are divided into single-direction thrust ball bearings and double-direction thrust ball bearings. Single-direction thrust ball bearings can withstand single-direction axial loads. Double-direction thrust ball bearings can withstand double-direction axial loads, in which the shaft ring and the shaft are matched. The bearings with spherical mounting surfaces of the seat rings have self-aligning properties and can reduce the influence of installation errors. Thrust ball bearings cannot withstand radial loads and have a low limit speed.
Application
Thrust ball bearings are suitable for machines that bear one-sided axial load and have low speed, such as crane hooks, vertical water pumps, vertical centrifuges, jacks, low-speed reducers, etc. The shaft ring, seat ring and rolling element of the bearing are separate and can be installed and disassembled separately.
